From Taos to Brooklyn

It’s time to catch up! It's been a joy to see my work selected for a string of juried and curated exhibitions over the past few years, spanning two distinct bodies of work. I’ve fallen behind on categorizing things here. Mea culpa! Who wants to blog when I can be making art?

Abstract Biophilic Art Photography

The first is my biophilic art photography, made using Intentional Camera Movement to capture the inner vibrational state of plants and landscape. In 2023, my piece H23F0634 was chosen for the Taos Abstract Artist Collective's Fall exhibition, my first show with TAAC. You can view it in their catalog here. I returned to TAAC in 2025 for their Fall exhibition, part of a season featuring more than 140 abstract artists from across Northern New Mexico. You can flip through that catalog here.

Nude Self-Portraits in Nature

The second is my nude self-portrait series, made over the course of a two-month camping trip where nature chose the time and place and told me:
Stop here. Disrobe. Make a photograph.

The full series lives at iamfortheloveofnature.com. In 2024, my piece, Swaddling MySelf, from this series was included in Inner Sanctuaries: Exploring Domestic Spaces, a juried show at Strata Gallery in Santa Fe curated by Stephanie J. Woods. Read more about that exhibition here.

In 2025, the same photograph, Swaddling My Self, was shown in the Las Damas x OmniHum exhibition at OmniHum Gallery in Taos, celebrating the creative voices of New Mexico's female artists. See more from OmniHum Gallery here.

And in 2026, three images from the series — including Equus Among Us and Discussing Age at Sunset with a Saguaro — were selected for Series: One Thing After Another at Site:Brooklyn Gallery, a juried show curated by writer Matt Stromberg exploring seriality and repetition across 35 contemporary artists. View the full exhibition here. I also wrote a new poem for one of the pieces, I AM: Wrecked on This Shore. It’s a bit darker than my usual but is how this piece spoke to me. And, I believe, how nature is speaking through me. The gallery also asked us for supplemental material, related to the making of the art. So I’m including two behind-the-scenes photos along with an extensive essay on this project, The Freedom to Be Found in Nature.
