Roxanne Darling

Hello and welcome. I am an artist, writer, and technologist. This is my internet home, a place to discover the many projects and experiences I’ve created in my lifetime. Many of these are connected to nature, spirituality, and the study of consciousness which are the true voices that have called me across time and space. Please scroll on for links to my other project sites. Like me, this site is a work in progress. More TK. Thank you for visiting.

My

Life

As a

Poem

Six decades on now, I’m listening to nature
first as a child, telling secrets to trees
draped in wild leaves — the forest’s favors.

Seeking knowledge, my marine bio degree
had me swimming with wild dolphins,
photographing creatures deep in the sea.

My mind and body longed for each other
so more I studied, and more I moved,
becoming a ballerina, dancing in wonder.

From Singapore to Zurich, Alaska to Maine
a decade flew by, as I taught mindbody health,
learning Native ways with Zuni, Cherokee, Diné.

Off to Hawai‘i, the camera again my teacher
as plants and flowers revealed their naka —
that inner vibration, asking us to look deeper.

Luxury commissions appeared
a Maui resort hotel gave us a gallery,
nature again was to be revered.

As age stole my mother, she too an artist,
I cared for her, we drew and played in galleries.
Then she passed. It was my time to harvest.

Nature invited me to be her virtuoso,
I camped in wild lands. Studied. Submitted.
“Stop here. Disrobe. Make a photo.”

Sunsets, rocks, trees were saying
stop over-consuming, demeaning aging,
allow sun on your bare skin, it’s amazing.

All together now, mind, body, creativity,
dressed in biophilic green dreams,
nature returns as my spirituality.
