It's a Good Day
Well, I am afflicted with spring fever! This is the first day of warm temperatures in my neighborhood, the first day of doing yoga barefoot (no socks!), and the first day of having the door and windows flung wide open to let in the fresh air and listen to the bird songs. And the first day I almost forgot to write a Monday, “let’s feel better together” post! So I’m coming in late and I’m coming in short. The essence of MINDSET is being able to use one’s mind to both direct one’s feelings as well as to change one’s thoughts — as soon as we discover we’re on the downer path. I had a mildly irritating experience before yoga today, then, used massive intentional energy to radiate humility, surrender, and forgiveness. I don’t like feely judgy, even though it comes so naturally to me.And I ended up having what I believe was one of my favorite sessions of all time. Practice, people, it takes a lot of practice. I’ve spent many a yoga class with critical thoughts riding in on every in-breath, when they are “supposed to” be riding out on the out-breath. Today was a breakthrough. I can’t give you a formula for how to do it and you’d probably ignore it anyways. We may have too many formulas in our lives right now! I can only suggest you keep minding and mellowing your mindset until something shifts. And it will. I guarantee it.In contrast, I saw a tweet this morning that planted this seed, I think. It said, “What’s an insult you’ll never forget?” This, to me, is the bane of social media as it taps into our ginormous collective reserves of bitterness, grievance, and self-pity. I’m sharing a screenshot so you can see for yourself all the Likes and Shares.

Over here, though, we are doing the opposite! “How many insults have you chosen to release into the cleansing consciousness of the all-loving, all-knowing, all-supporting Universe?” Haha, you don’t even have to bother answering that question — it’s just an alternative vibe to play with.I leave with you a message from Michael Franti and Spearhead: Today would be a “Good Day For A Good Day.” May I suggest you triple your return by getting up and dancing along to it?
Thanks for reading and tuning your mindset to ever more joyful octaves.P.S. How do you feel about the Substack chat? If you get the app, it allows real-time and time-shifted communications. I’m toying with a few ideas and hope you’ll respond. Thank you! xorox
